Let's Make Number Place (Elementary course)
Let's Make Number Place : Step 8
13. Fill in 4s.
In the column with the dotted line, only the marked cell is a possibility for a 4. Also, in the top center block, possibility for a 4 is only in the marked cell.
The rest two 4s are fixed at cell J, and therefore, cell K.
There were two possible cells for a 3 in the top left block. But now that we have a 4 in one of them, the other cell becomes 3.
We've settled four numbers: 1s, 3s, 4s and 7s.
14. Carefully fill in 2s and 8s.
When you look at the row of cell L, L can accept only a 2 or a 8. If we place a 2 or 8 on cell M as well, cell L and M hold the same numbers. Let's say we put 2s to both cell L and M.
Then cell N and O become 8, and cell P becomes 2. Furthermore, cell Q is 2 and cell R is 8.
We have come to more than halfway. Let's check if any vacant cells are in fact fixed or not. This is very important: if we don't check that, we might ruin the puzzle!
